APPLICATION

It is used in all areas of wood, thanks to its resistance to external agents. It is also widely used for wine and whiskey barrels. Used for the construction of furniture, doors, panels, parquet floors and stairs.

FEATURES

Since there are more than 80 different species of oak in the United States alone, the heartwood color can vary from very light to dark brown. The sapwood, which is not always clearly marked by the heart, is slightly colored. Rich in tannins also perceptible on the nose.

DRYING

The drying times are very long, it must be done moderately and slowly to prevent the wood from splitting.

SURFACE

All treatments can be performed without difficulty. It is often used for rustic colors.

GLUING

Bonding is good, however pre-drilling is required for nail joints.
